Description

  • Become an expert on Samsara products and translate technical capabilities into business impact for customers.
  • Articulate to prospects how organizations in their industry use Samsara to solve operational and regulatory challenges.
  • Deliver deliverables that advance sales cycles, including discoveries, demonstrations, value assessments, and proof-of-concept implementations.
  • Guide and train installers on best practices for hardware installation and build deployment plans for customer sites.
  • Write and document sample proof-of-concept scripts against Samsara’s open API to solve real-world problems and share them with the SE team.
  • Open doors for deeper account engagement (integrations, upsell, cross-sell) by acting as a trusted technical consultant to customers.
  • Serve as a liaison between product and sales teams by translating technical feedback and enrolling customers in beta programs.
  • Champion and model Samsara’s cultural principles while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support customer success and product adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from a 4-year accredited university (BS in EE, CS, ME, Industrial Eng. or related discipline listed as ideal).
  • 5+ years of experience working with customers in a pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support capacity (8+ years enterprise pre-sales experience listed as ideal).
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and manage product evaluations.
  • Previous experience with hardware and/or software product evaluations and hands-on installation guidance.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems and familiarity with cloud-connected hardware and cloud software.
  • Experience or familiarity with computer networking, business systems integration, technical consulting, automation, and control systems.
  • Experience building solutions leveraging open APIs and scripting/automation using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems (CAN bus, PTO applications) is a plus.
  • Comfort with travel up to 50% and being located within Central or Eastern time zones; proximity to an international airport preferred.
  • A growth mindset, strong customer empathy, and a track record of selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles (preferred).

  • On-target earnings (OTE) range: $198,050–$233,000 USD annually (may vary by location and experience).
