Description

  • Create and execute the strategy for how vehicle data is defined, collected, leveraged, and monetized across global customer fleets.
  • Drive Telematics Platform strategy and execution, maintaining high-quality services and APIs used internally and externally.
  • Work with OEM Integrations and Partnerships teams to support ingestion of vehicle system data from OEM cloud APIs and Samsara gateways.
  • Collaborate with Data Science to define diagnostics coverage, monitor quality, and prioritize investments to close key gaps.
  • Drive customer- and internal-facing insights, including predictive maintenance and other ML-enabled use cases.
  • Partner with Engineering teams across firmware and full-stack to ensure high uptime, connectivity, and release quality in the field.
  • Lead quarterly and annual R&D planning and manage intake processes across product lines to inform priorities.
  • Communicate roadmap and priorities across product line leadership and help advance product initiatives.
  • Partner with customer-facing teams to close strategic accounts, resolve escalations, and maintain top customer relationships.
  • Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, high-performing team of product managers.

Requirements

  • Experience in a platform product role within a large software development organization.
  • Strong technical understanding and ability to establish credibility with engineers.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in complex environments with bold timelines.
  • Demonstrated experience setting strategy for complex technical areas and using analytics/data to measure progress and guide investment decisions.
  • Experience hiring, developing, and leading people as a direct manager.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present to customers and senior executives.
  • 10+ years of job experience in relevant product, technical, and/or business roles.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience working in the telematics and/or automotive space (preferred).
  • Experience working on software platforms supporting $1B+ in revenue (preferred).
  • Technical familiarity with automotive communication protocols and vehicle onboard diagnostics systems (preferred).
  • Experience managing firmware-based features (preferred).
  • Remote position open to candidates in the U.S.; relocation assistance is not provided.
