Description

  • Design and build GraphQL and REST APIs and scalable backend services for internal and external use.
  • Own technical delivery for features spanning both product and data domains.
  • Lead full-stack web development, systems architecture, and data integration projects.
  • Develop data pipelines and ETL processes for structured and semi-structured data.
  • Build or integrate internal tools and admin interfaces for data stewardship, data quality, and operational workflows.
  • Support data-driven features and collaborate with stakeholders to embed insights into product experiences.
  • Design technical solutions that support application growth, availability, and maintainability.
  • Provide technical leadership on complex initiatives across multiple teams and systems.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to solve business and platform challenges.
  • Work closely with Product and Data stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
  • Promote engineering excellence through code quality, performance tuning, testing practices, and architecture documentation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a software engineer focused on full-stack and backend development.
  • Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and scaling GraphQL and REST APIs in production.
  • Strong data modeling and database design experience, ideally with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience working with modern monorepo setups and modular architectures.
  • Comfortable building, supporting, and integrating production-grade ETL and data pipelines.
  • Experience building data processing and integration logic using Node.js, Python, or SQL with attention to performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Familiarity with data tools and platforms such as AWS Glue, Snowflake, Apache Airflow, Databricks, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, plus CI/CD workflows and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture principles such as SOLID, DDD, and DRY.
  • Experience with both greenfield and legacy systems.
  • Ability to lead projects across both application and data-focused initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering culture and growth.
  • Experience in fast-paced startup or scaling environments.
  • Proactive in identifying architectural and systemic improvements.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated data environments is a plus.
  • Experience building or supporting admin tools and internal platforms is a bonus.
  • Experience with data observability, schema governance, or data lineage tooling is a bonus.
  • Exposure to machine learning pipelines, business intelligence tools, or product instrumentation is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with mobile development frameworks such as React Native or Capacitor is a bonus.
