Description

  • Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, and Microsoft SQL Server production environments.
  • Ensure database high availability, replication, and automated failover for mission-critical systems.
  • Tune database and query performance, optimize indexing, and analyze resource utilization.
  • Maintain backup and recovery strategies using tools such as pgBackRest, PBM, Percona XtraBackup, and SQL Server native utilities.
  • Conduct disaster recovery drills and ensure RTO/RPO compliance.
  • Automate database provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, and PMM.
  • Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patching with minimal downtime.
  • Implement security controls, access management, encryption, and auditing practices.
  • Maintain SOPs, technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations, resolve incidents, and support SLA adherence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field.
  • Minimum 5 years of DevOps, DBA, or SRE experience.
  • Experience managing production database systems at scale.
  • Expert-level PostgreSQL experience, including high availability, replication, and tuning.
  • Strong MongoDB experience, including replica sets and sharding.
  • Experience with Azure PostgreSQL and Cosmos DB.
  • Experience with database migration projects.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical, communication, self-driven, collaborative, and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work Saudi Arabia time zone hours: 13:00 to 21:00, Sunday to Thursday.
  • Preferred experience with Kubernetes database operators such as Zalando Patroni Operator or Percona operators.
  • Preferred experience with CI/CD pipelines for database changes, including schema migrations and tools like Flyway or Liquibase.
  • Preferred familiarity with additional NoSQL or time-series databases such as Redis, Elasticsearch, or InfluxDB.
  • Preferred experience in fintech, telecom, or other highly regulated or mission-critical domains.
  • Preferred experience working in ITIL-based or SRE/SLI/SLO-driven operational environments.
