Description

  • Lead expansion of Rocket’s work across specific Department of War (DoW) branches and drive revenue growth within those accounts.
  • Identify, qualify, and capture new business opportunities for UX design and development in the defense sector.
  • Build and maintain positive strategic relationships with DoW program leaders, large defense primes, and small non-traditional companies.
  • Manage and steer a healthy business development pipeline to ensure continued growth and revenue attainment.
  • Translate technical nuances of Rocket’s UX projects and the broader defense environment into compelling value propositions and proposals.
  • Represent Rocket at professional events and meetings, networking and generating leads (approximately one week per month of travel/attendance).
  • Present to and communicate with high-level stakeholders and decision makers, including public speaking and formal presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and senior leadership (reports to SVP of Programs) to align proposals, capture strategies, and delivery expectations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven business development, account management, or similar sales experience specifically within the defense sector.
  • Deep domain expertise in Federal and Department of War domains, including an up-to-date understanding of relevant technologies, trends, personnel, and branch-specific needs.
  • Proven ability to establish and grow strategic relationships with DoW program leaders, defense primes, and small non-traditional companies.
  • Exceptional networking skills with demonstrated ability to establish trust and new connections within the DoW and industry quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with comfort presenting to senior stakeholders and public speaking.
  • Understanding and awareness of emerging trends in UX Design and Development to inform business strategy and positioning.
  • Ability to attend and network at professional events and meetings (on average one week per month).
  • U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain a Department of War (DoW) Security Clearance.
