Description

  • Support project billing, revenue recognition, and Profit and Loss statement review for assigned projects.
  • Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance to products, software, and services revenue.
  • Review contract terms and set up project codes, revenue methods, and billing formulas in Oracle.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, including cost, variance, and profitability analyses.
  • Prepare, review, and post invoices and journal entries related to project costs, revenues, and adjustments.
  • Communicate with project managers and clients to support billing and project accounting needs.
  • Assist with external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
  • Handle complex projects and support other project accountants as needed.
  • Assist the Revenue Manager with ad hoc reporting and other assigned duties.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement required changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in engineering consulting, technology, retail, or related firms.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player and initiate process improvements.
  • Interest in sustainability and making a meaningful environmental impact.
  • Ability to travel to Chicago, IL up to 1-2 times per year as needed.
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience, strongly preferred.
  • Oracle experience, preferred.
  • Inventory or software accounting experience, preferred.

  • Base salary range of $84,000-$120,000.
