Description

  • Lead the development and delivery of major team-scoped projects and participate in cross-team initiatives for Remote’s HR and Payroll products.
  • Design, implement and contribute to the shared codebase, shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Propose, implement and operationalize agentic/automation workflows end-to-end (spec → plan → execute → verify) and build reusable workflow primitives.
  • Participate in product work by providing technical feedback, suggesting solutions, and influencing product improvements.
  • Define specifications, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality for systems work.
  • Debug and resolve technical and business issues across the stack.
  • Provide and act on code review feedback and maintain high engineering standards in the codebase.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other engineers and participate in hiring, RFCs, and other non-team activities.
  • Implement interfaces with attention to performance, accessibility, and API design.
  • Use verification loops (tests, checks, evals, guardrails) to ensure results are correct, secure, reliable, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows and iterating to improve them.
  • Ability to think in systems: define specs clearly, decompose plans, instrument verification, and close quality loops.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar relational database.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins or similar) and workflows.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and contributing to shared codebases.
  • Comfort working asynchronously in a remote, distributed team and readiness to start as soon as possible.
  • Nice to have: experience with Functional Programming languages (Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, Haskell, etc.).
  • Nice to have: experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Next.js, React, Vue, or Angular.
