Description

  • Lead development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote's HR and Payroll products.
  • Build tools, APIs, integrations, and interfaces for one of Remote's products.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering partners to provide feedback, suggest solutions, and improve product direction.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
  • Review code and contribute to the shared codebase.
  • Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
  • Participate in support rotations, hiring processes, and RFC discussions as needed.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers.
  • Investigate and implement improvements to the platform.
  • Design and operationalize agentic workflows end-to-end, including spec, plan, execute, and verify.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives that can be applied across domains.
  • Use verification loops such as tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to ensure outputs are correct, secure, reliable, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, define specs clearly, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins, or similar systems.
  • Experience with functional programming languages such as Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, or Haskell is preferred.
  • Experience with Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Experience with Docker is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS is preferred.
  • Experience with Next.js is preferred.
  • Experience with React, Vue, or Angular is preferred.
