Description

  • Design, build, and maintain RESTful and event-driven microservices in Java.
  • Own and extend integrations with third-party platforms, including CRMs, EMRs, marketing automation, and analytics tools.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines that move, transform, and deliver structured data reliably.
  • Instrument services for observability, including logging, tracing, and alerting.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and support production systems.
  • Lead technical initiatives by scoping work, surfacing blockers early, and driving delivery end to end.
  • Participate actively in code reviews and incorporate feedback constructively.
  • Communicate technical trade-offs and progress clearly to engineering peers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work directly with the VP of Engineering on APIs, data pipelines, and architecture decisions.
  • Write production code daily as a hands-on individual contributor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of recent back-end engineering experience with Java.
  • Strong foundation in building production-grade REST APIs and microservices.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and the ability to write and optimize SQL queries.
  • Comfort using AI coding assistants, such as Claude Code, as a productivity multiplier.
  • Advanced English level is required for this role.
  • Experience working with US clients is required.
  • Experience in a startup environment or with high ownership and autonomy is preferred.
  • Hands-on individual contributor experience is expected.
  • Ability to work in a remote LATAM team is expected.
