Description

Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote's HR and Payroll products.
Work with product and engineering partners to provide technical feedback, suggest solutions, and improve product direction.
Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
Review code and contribute to the shared codebase.
Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
Participate in support rotations, hiring activities, RFC discussions, and other non-team engineering work.
Mentor and guide other engineers.
Investigate, propose, and help implement platform improvements.
Design interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
Develop and operationalize agentic workflows end-to-end, from specification and planning through execution and verification.
Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives that can be applied across different domains.
Use tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to verify correctness, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
Ability to think in systems by defining clear specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the loop on quality.
Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar.
Strong automation and AI capabilities, with demonstrated AI fluency.
Experience with functional programming languages such as Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, or Haskell is preferred.
Experience with Kubernetes is preferred.
Experience with Docker is preferred.
Experience with AWS is preferred.
Experience with Next.js is preferred.
Experience with React, Vue, or Angular is preferred.
Willingness to submit an application and CV in English.
