Description

  • Break down larger engineering projects into phased tasks and deliver them with support from the team’s tech lead and manager.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Participate in ideation, surface technical constraints, and help evaluate risks and trade-offs for product decisions.
  • Support the availability and operations of team systems by creating and monitoring metrics and escalating issues when needed.
  • Participate in on-call and “keep the lights on” operational efforts for production systems.
  • Contribute to team growth and development by taking part in the interview process.
  • Work on systems that sit on the critical path for card authorization, transaction processing, account and lifecycle management, tokenization, and platform security.

Requirements

  • 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
  • Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems concepts.
  • Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to turn simple business problems into solutions spanning multiple software components.
  • Ability to write clear, well-tested, and extensible code.
  • Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging other engineers’ code, and giving code review feedback.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience taking ownership of growth and proactively seeking feedback (preferred).
