Description

  • Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and participate in cross-team initiatives for HR and Payroll products.
  • Participate in product work by providing feedback, proposing solutions, and using technical insights to suggest product improvements.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
  • Contribute to and maintain the shared codebase, including performing and providing feedback on code reviews.
  • Debug and resolve technical and business issues and participate in support rotations as needed.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other engineers and take part in hiring and RFC discussions.
  • Investigate, propose, and implement platform improvements to increase reliability, performance, and developer productivity.
  • Design and implement interfaces with attention to performance, accessibility, and API design.
  • Redesign how engineering work ships by making autonomous agents the default execution layer and build reusable agentic workflows and primitives.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows (spec → plan → execute → verify) and use verification loops (tests, checks, evals, guardrails) to ensure correctness, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows (or comparable systems) and iterating on them.
  • Ability to think in systems: write clear specs, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar relational database.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Experience with Functional Programming languages is a plus (examples: Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, Haskell).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker (nice to have).
  • Experience with AWS (nice to have).
  • Experience with frontend frameworks such as Next.js, React, Vue, or Angular (nice to have).
  • Comfort working asynchronously and remotely across distributed teams.
