Description

Lead major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote's HR and Payroll products.
Build tools, APIs, and integrations for one of Remote's products.
Participate in product discussions by providing feedback and proposing technical solutions and product improvements.
Maintain a strong understanding of the team's domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
Review code and provide actionable feedback to other engineers.
Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
Contribute to the shared codebase and implement platform improvements.
Participate in support rotations, hiring activities, RFC discussions, and other non-team engineering work.
Mentor and guide other engineers.
Design and implement interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
Redesign how engineering work ships using autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
Propose, build, and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
Create reusable agentic workflow primitives across the codebase.
Use verification loops such as tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to ensure quality, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows and improving them through iteration.
Ability to think in systems, including defining specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing quality loops.
Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar.
Experience with functional programming languages such as Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, or Haskell is preferred.
Experience with Kubernetes is preferred.
Experience with Docker is preferred.
Experience with AWS is preferred.
Experience with Next.js is preferred.
Experience with React, Vue, or Angular is preferred.
