Description

  • Lead development of major team-scoped projects and participate in cross-team initiatives for HR and payroll products.
  • Participate actively in product work: provide feedback, suggest solutions, and influence product improvements using technical insight.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
  • Contribute to and review the shared codebase by providing feedback on code reviews and shipping high-quality changes.
  • Debug and resolve technical and business issues in production and pre-production environments.
  • Participate in non-team activities including support rotations, hiring, RFC discussions, and other engineering processes.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other engineers to raise team capability and code quality.
  • Investigate, propose, and implement platform improvements to increase reliability, performance, and developer productivity.
  • Design, propose, and operationalize end-to-end agentic/automation workflows (spec → plan → execute → verify), build reusable agentic workflow primitives, and integrate verification loops (tests, checks, evals, guardrails).

Requirements

  • Proven track record of shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Practical experience designing, adopting, or iterating on agentic/automation workflows or comparable systems.
  • Ability to think in systems: define clear specs, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar relational database.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins or similar) and frequent deployment practices.
  • Familiarity with verification practices such as tests, checks, and guardrails to ensure correctness and reliability.
  • Experience or interest in functional programming languages (Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, Haskell) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is desirable.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and frontend frameworks (Next.js, React/Vue/Angular) is a plus.
