Description

  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with country-specific regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Own end-to-end payroll execution for assigned jurisdictions, including payroll input validation, calculations, and post-payroll activities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on country payroll requirements and monitor legislative, tax, and regulatory changes that affect payroll operations.
  • Support the rollout of payroll services in new or expanding jurisdictions and integrate execution processes into operational workflows.
  • Coordinate payroll matters across internal teams and external stakeholders, including payroll partners where applicable.
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies, operational risks, and compliance issues, escalating complex matters when needed.
  • Improve payroll operations by streamlining workflows, increasing transparency, and strengthening scalability.
  • Develop and maintain payroll documentation and operational knowledge to support clear governance and repeatable processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on system enhancements, statutory updates, and operational improvements.
  • Contribute to automation and AI-enabled tools that improve payroll efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Participate in testing payroll system developments, enhancements, and process improvements to confirm operational readiness.

Requirements

  • Meaningful mid-senior level experience in Ukrainian payroll operations with hands-on end-to-end payroll processing responsibility.
  • Experience managing payroll in multi-country environments or global organizations.
  • Strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders across a payroll ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset with solid problem-solving skills for complex payroll scenarios.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for asynchronous, globally distributed work environments.
  • Ownership-oriented approach with the ability to raise risks early and act with curiosity and accountability.
  • Comfort working in scrappy, fast-moving startup environments.
  • Proficiency with payroll tools and data analysis using in-house and external platforms.
  • Experience working in remote or globally distributed teams is an advantage.
  • Strong fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
