Description

  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with country-specific regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Own end-to-end payroll execution for assigned jurisdictions, including payroll input validation, calculations, and post-payroll processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on country payroll requirements and stay current on legislative, tax, and regulatory changes.
  • Support the implementation and rollout of payroll services in new or expanding jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate payroll matters across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Identify, resolve, and escalate payroll discrepancies, operational risks, and compliance issues as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by streamlining payroll workflows and improving operational transparency.
  • Develop and maintain payroll documentation and operational knowledge to keep processes clear, scalable, and governed.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on system enhancements, statutory updates, and payroll-related operational improvements.
  • Support adoption of automation and AI-enabled tools to improve payroll efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Participate in testing for payroll system developments, enhancements, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Meaningful mid-senior level experience in Ukrainian payroll operations with hands-on end-to-end payroll processing in Ukraine.
  • Experience managing payroll in multi-country environments or global organizations.
  • Strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders across payroll ecosystems.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to solve complex payroll problems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in asynchronous, globally distributed environments.
  • Ownership mindset with the ability to raise risks early and handle operational challenges with accountability.
  • Comfortable working in scrappy, fast-moving startup environments.
  • Proficiency with payroll tools and data analysis using in-house and external platforms.
  • Experience working in remote or globally distributed teams is an advantage.
  • Strong fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
