Description

Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with country-specific regulations and statutory requirements.
Own end-to-end payroll execution for assigned jurisdictions, including payroll input validation, calculations, and post-payroll processing.
Act as a subject matter expert on country payroll requirements and monitor legislative, tax, and regulatory changes affecting payroll operations.
Support the rollout of payroll services in new or expanding jurisdictions and integrate execution processes into operational workflows.
Serve as a coordination point for internal teams and external stakeholders on country payroll matters.
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies, operational risks, and compliance issues, escalating complex matters when needed.
Contribute to continuous improvement by streamlining workflows and increasing operational transparency.
Develop and maintain payroll documentation and operational knowledge so processes remain clear, scalable, and aligned with governance requirements.
Partner with cross-functional teams on system enhancements, statutory updates, and other payroll-related operational improvements.
Support the adoption of automation and AI-enabled tools to improve payroll efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Participate in testing payroll system developments, enhancements, and process improvements to confirm operational readiness.

Requirements

Mid-senior level experience in Polish payroll operations with hands-on responsibility for end-to-end payroll processing in Poland.
Experience managing payroll in multi-country environments or global organizations.
Strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and compliance requirements.
Comfort working with internal and external stakeholders and coordinating cross-functional partners.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and strong in problem-solving for complex payroll scenarios.
Strong written and oral communication skills, with comfort working asynchronously in globally distributed teams.
Ownership mindset with the ability to raise risks early and handle operational challenges with curiosity and accountability.
Comfort working in scrappy, fast-moving start-up environments.
Proficiency with payroll tools and data analysis using in-house and external platforms.
Experience working in remote or globally distributed teams is an advantage.
Strong fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
