Description

  • Own payroll compliance for a specific country or region and serve as the accountable subject-matter expert.
  • Interpret local legislation and ensure it is documented and implemented across processes, systems, and customer workflows.
  • Translate statutory rules, payroll logic, tax calculations, thresholds, and edge cases into requirements for Product and Engineering.
  • Partner with Product Design to create compliant, intuitive, and auditable user experiences.
  • Review specifications, test logic, and validate product outputs for legislative accuracy.
  • Lead multi-country or high-risk audits from planning through remediation.
  • Establish scalable audit frameworks and drive root-cause analysis and systemic improvements.
  • Lead investigations and incident resolution as the primary escalation point for regional compliance issues.
  • Design scalable compliance processes, controls, SOPs, monitoring mechanisms, and governance frameworks.
  • Build training materials and documentation, deliver enablement sessions, and coach internal teams on compliance topics.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in payroll and employment compliance for a country or region, including how legislation affects payroll calculations and system logic.
  • Proven experience leading audits, regulatory reviews, or country-level compliance programs.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams to convert statutory rules into product requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, and Senior Leadership.
  • Confident investigator with sound judgment in high-risk or sensitive scenarios.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching team members to build compliance capability.
  • Systems-thinking mindset with experience designing scalable frameworks, documentation, processes, and controls.
  • Comfort operating in an async, fast-changing, fully remote environment.
  • Prior experience with compliance, operations, or payroll in a global or multi-country context is preferred.
