Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend.
  • Spend roughly 30% of time on people management and the remainder contributing to product development.
  • Participate in hiring for the team and support hiring efforts for peers when needed.
  • Own onboarding for new engineers and help them integrate successfully into the team.
  • Manage team dynamics as the spokesperson for the team and help bring out the best in each member.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback, coaching, and guidance to direct reports.
  • Support the growth and career development of each direct report and the team as a whole.
  • Redesign engineering delivery to use autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives, and use verification loops to ensure outputs are correct, secure, reliable, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with frontend technologies such as React, JavaScript, ES6, and Jest, or backend technologies such as Elixir/Phoenix.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the loop on quality.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • A people-first approach focused on efficient processes.
  • Commitment to promoting Remote's values within the team and the broader organization.

  • Experience with team dynamics.
