Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend.
  • Spend about 30% of the time on management work while actively contributing to product development.
  • Participate in hiring for the team and help peers with hiring when needed.
  • Own onboarding for new engineers joining the team.
  • Serve as the team spokesperson and manage team dynamics to bring out the best in each member.
  • Give continuous, constructive feedback and provide coaching to direct reports.
  • Support the continuous growth and career development of each direct report.
  • Redesign engineering delivery to use autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase and use verification loops to ensure quality, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with backend development, preferably Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems: define specs clearly, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Solid communication skills and solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • Good understanding of team dynamics and a kind, people-first approach to efficient processes.
  • Ambition and intent around diversity, equality, and inclusion.
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
