Description

  • Manage, coach, and mentor a team of Go and Python engineers while fostering an inclusive culture and shared code ownership.
  • Guide architectural decisions for Kubernetes integrations and OpenTelemetry semantic conventions.
  • Plan and deliver software projects spanning instrumentation agents, Helm charts, backend services, and frontend UI components.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineering teams to align on goals and ship high-quality software regularly.
  • Implement DevOps practices so the team builds, maintains, and supports its own software.
  • Manage second-layer support rotations and incident response for the team’s services.
  • Support Kubernetes agents across multiple platforms and environments, including Kubernetes versions, OpenShift, Rancher, Windows, and OKE.
  • Encourage team contributions to open source and the broader cloud-native community.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of overall software engineering experience, including large-scale distributed systems and high-cardinality data processing.
  • 2+ years of direct experience managing and scaling engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes architectures and scaling applications in multi-cloud containerized environments such as EKS, AKS, and GKE.
  • Hands-on experience with Go and/or Python, Linux systems, and API development.
  • Proven experience handling customer incidents, investigating technical issues, and mitigating production risks.
  • Strong analytical skills with an autonomous, creative approach to solving technical blockers.
  • Background in building or managing AI workflows, LLM orchestration, or Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers is a plus.
  • Deep experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, eBPF, or similar telemetry frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience developing Helm charts, Kubernetes Operators, or working with Unix operating systems and Windows nodes is a plus.
  • Upstream contributions to CNCF or other open-source infrastructure projects are a plus.
