Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend.
  • Spend about 30% of time on management work while actively participating in product development.
  • Participate in hiring for the team and support peers in hiring processes.
  • Own onboarding for new engineers and help them integrate into the team.
  • Manage team dynamics, act as spokesperson for the team, and bring out the best in each member.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback, guidance, and coaching to direct reports.
  • Support each direct report’s growth and career development.
  • Redesign how engineering work ships with autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from spec through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives, and use verification loops to ensure outputs are correct, secure, reliable, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive backend experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems: define specs clearly, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with efficient processes and a kind, people-first approach.
  • Ability to inspire others, instill confidence, and understand team dynamics.
  • Ambition and intentionality around diversity, equality, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
  • Experience working asynchronously or in a fully remote environment is relevant to the role.
