Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend work.
  • Spend about 30% of time on management duties while remaining actively involved in product development.
  • Participate in hiring for the team and support peers with hiring as needed.
  • Own onboarding for new engineers joining the team.
  • Manage team dynamics as the team spokesperson and help each person perform at their best.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback, guidance, and coaching to direct reports.
  • Support the growth and career development of each direct report.
  • Redesign how engineering work ships with autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives and use verification loops to ensure quality, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with frontend technologies such as React, JavaScript, ES6, and Jest, or backend technologies such as Elixir/Phoenix.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them iteratively.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining specs clearly, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • Commitment to promoting Remote's values and a people-first, inclusive approach.
  • Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion is important.
  • Ability to work in English, with application materials submitted in English.
  • Willingness to work fully remotely from anywhere in the world and in an async environment.
