Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend work.
  • Spend about 30% of time on management responsibilities while actively participating in product development.
  • Lead hiring processes for the team and support peers when needed.
  • Own onboarding for new engineers joining the team.
  • Manage team dynamics, serve as the spokesperson for the team, and help bring out the best in each person.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback, guidance, and coaching to direct reports.
  • Support career growth and development for each direct report and the team as a whole.
  • Redesign engineering delivery so autonomous agents are the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives, and use verification loops to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable outcomes.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive backend experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with an efficient, kind, people-first approach.
  • Ability to inspire others, instill confidence, and understand team dynamics.
  • Ambition and intentionality around diversity, equality, and inclusion.
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities with AI fluency.
  • Commitment to promoting Remote’s values within the team and the wider organization.
  • Ability to start as soon as possible.
