Description

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines for AI, analytics, and operational reporting.
  • Own and evolve the data warehouse architecture to meet performance, flexibility, and governance needs.
  • Work closely with AI Engineers, BI Engineers, and business stakeholders to support modelling, exploration, and dashboard reliability.
  • Ensure data integrity, availability, lineage, and observability across complex pipelines.
  • Define and enforce best practices for data modelling, pipeline orchestration, and infrastructure reliability.
  • Champion Infrastructure as Code and automation for managing data services.
  • Identify and resolve scaling bottlenecks, performance issues, and architectural challenges.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate data engineering work and review AI-generated pipeline code for quality.
  • Mentor junior Data Engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering, including at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Deep experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipeline orchestration, such as Airflow and dbt.
  • Strong Python skills and advanced SQL skills.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses, such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, and data lake architectures.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, data partitioning, schema design, and performance tuning.
  • Solid knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability for data pipelines.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate data engineering in a production context.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a remote environment with clear written communication and reliable async collaboration.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, feature stores, and real-time data needs is preferred.
  • Experience implementing MLOps and DataOps best practices is preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate business needs into data requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with data privacy regulations, such as GDPR and PII handling, is preferred.
  • Self-directed and self-improving, with the ability to manage your own time and growth path, is preferred.
