Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services across the core stack, including Java, Python, Spring Boot, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and Kafka.
  • Maintain and improve existing Python-based systems while supporting the strategic transition of parts of the backend to Java.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Operations, Sales, and engineering teams to build reliable products that solve real business problems.
  • Make pragmatic architectural decisions, including defining domain boundaries, decomposing the legacy monolith, and selecting appropriate distributed system patterns.
  • Lead adoption of modern engineering practices such as TDD, continuous delivery, SRE culture, and API-first design.
  • Support the gradual refactoring of legacy systems without disruptive long-term migration efforts.
  • Mentor less senior engineers through high-quality code, code reviews, and weekly learning sessions.
  • Take strong technical ownership for product quality, scalability, and performance in a global-scale system.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders inside and outside the company.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of backend software development experience.
  • Strong professional experience with Python, using frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, Flask, or similar.
  • Strong professional experience with Java, preferably with Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL; exposure to NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern development workflows.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to performance and scalability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
