Description

  • Review flagged contractor onboarding cases, including KYC documents, identity verification discrepancies, and incomplete or inconsistent submissions.
  • Manage manual review queues created by compliance controls and decide whether to approve, escalate, or reject cases.
  • Review legal identity and tax data changes submitted by contractors and flag anomalies.
  • Investigate beneficiary and bank account setup issues, including name mismatches, duplicate account risk, and possible fraud indicators.
  • Support re-verification workflows and ongoing monitoring to maintain contractor compliance throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Track regulatory and policy changes that affect active contractor relationships.
  • Partner with the CX team on compliance-related contractor and client communications while owning compliance determinations.
  • Act as a compliance subject matter expert in operational discussions involving contractor lifecycle issues.
  • Identify recurring issues in the case queue and share structured feedback with the Product team to improve automation and reduce manual reviews.
  • Contribute to internal compliance policies, playbooks, and decision frameworks.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in compliance, KYC/AML operations, risk review, or a related function.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, HR tech, or another platform operating across multiple jurisdictions is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing identity documents, tax forms, and financial account data in international contexts.
  • Strong analytical judgment and the ability to make nuanced compliance decisions with incomplete information.
  • Ability to clearly document decision rationale.
  • Familiarity with contractor classification risks, cross-border tax obligations, or global employment regulations is a strong plus.
  • Excellent written communication skills for translating compliance requirements into clear guidance for non-compliance stakeholders.
  • A process-improvement mindset focused on reducing manual work and queue volume.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with distributed teammates across multiple time zones.
  • Excellent English is required.
  • Experience with EOR, PEO, or contractor management platforms is preferred.
  • Exposure to sanctions screening, PEP checks, or fraud investigation workflows is preferred.
  • Familiarity with compliance tooling such as Onfido, Jumio, or ComplyAdvantage is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR, data privacy regulations, or cross-border data handling requirements is preferred.
