Description

Serve as the first point of contact for internal teams seeking legal guidance.
Review business proposals, product changes, and partnerships for legal and compliance risk.
Translate legal and regulatory requirements into clear, practical internal guidance.
Manage external counsel relationships, including briefing and cost control.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including vendor and partnership agreements.
Maintain a contract register covering obligations, renewals, and timelines.
Ensure contracts are properly executed, stored, and understood by internal teams.
Manage regulatory filings, license applications, and correspondence with authorities.
Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
Maintain a compliance calendar and convert regulatory requirements into internal policies and operational processes.
Support internal investigations and incident reviews involving legal or compliance risks.
Conduct structured risk assessments for new markets, products, or process changes, and document findings, recommendations, and issue resolution.

Requirements

LL.B and BL; Call to Bar is required.
Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in corporate law, compliance, or a related role.
Experience working in a regulated industry such as health insurance, financial services, or fintech.
Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
Experience engaging with regulators, including filings, correspondence, and audits.
Ability to interpret legislation and translate it into practical internal guidance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Sound understanding of corporate governance principles.
Experience with health insurance regulation, such as NHIA or similar frameworks, is preferred.
Exposure to multi-jurisdiction legal or compliance work is preferred.
Experience supporting board-level governance or reporting is preferred.
Familiarity with digital health or health tech business models is preferred.
