Description

  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop and optimize fusion welding processes and equipment for Aeon-R and Aeon-V engine components.
  • Develop and qualify weld joint designs and process parameters in accordance with AWS D17.1 for fracture-critical hardware.
  • Identify and implement new welding capabilities with a focus on automation and process control for robotic LBW and GTAW.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams for welding operations, process issues, and troubleshooting.
  • Support disposition of hardware non-conformances and RCCA activities.
  • Ensure process quality control and documentation meet required standards and specifications.
  • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvements to maintain high-quality outputs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with aerospace fusion welding processes, including GTAW and robotic welding; laser welding preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry welding codes and standards, such as AWS D17.1.
  • Knowledge of common aerospace materials, including stainless steel, nickel, aluminum, and titanium alloys.
  • Basic CAD proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX for creating and reviewing drawings and models.
  • B.S. in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with manual GTAW, semi-auto GTAW, and laser welding preferred.
  • Experience welding high-temperature nickel alloys or additively manufactured materials preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS D17.1 and related industry welding codes/standards preferred.
  • Solid background in fusion welding of titanium preferred.
  • Practical experience with robotic and semi-automated welding techniques preferred.
