Description

  • Own quality activities across design, planning, manufacturing, and program execution for the Terran R program.
  • Standardize drawings and support design for manufacturability, configuration management, and control.
  • Review work instructions, develop processes, and create standard rework and repair documentation.
  • Support in-process build verification and coordinate travelled work during manufacturing.
  • Manage nonconformance ticket processes, as-built verification, and root cause/corrective action efforts.
  • Drive quality initiatives such as specification development, walk-down checklists, and inspection automation support.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Additive, Manufacturing, Test, and Launch teams to meet company objectives.
  • Help establish quality processes, controls, and inspections that scale with production and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or another STEM field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer at a fast-paced manufacturing company.
  • Extensive experience working with design engineering, manufacturing, production, and test personnel.
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing or complex assembly practices and quality controls.
  • Working knowledge of PLM, MES, ERP, and QMS software.
  • Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to solve difficult problems, evaluate alternatives, and coordinate across multiple teams.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives and complete projects.
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively to team members, team leaders, and senior management.
  • Experience with process development and first-time quality efforts.
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, APQP, SPC, and PPV is preferred.
  • Proven success introducing new hardware products into manufacturing, test, and production systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with high-volume inspection methods and data-driven acceptance methods is preferred.
  • Understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 practices for aerospace programs is preferred.
  • Experience defining and owning a process from scratch and rolling it out across a diverse team is preferred.
