Description

  • Collaborate with design teams to incorporate the latest design data into full customer mission simulations.
  • Develop software tooling to optimize launch and orbital trajectories for key customer missions.
  • Lead interdisciplinary design trade analyses to inform vehicle, mission trajectory, and ConOps decisions.
  • Define and maintain high-level vehicle and trajectory design requirements for the overall design process.
  • Implement, maintain, and improve software tools across multiple languages, from core simulation capabilities to analysis utilities.
  • Establish and lead cross-functional collaboration with teams across Vehicle Engineering.
  • Work across the full launch system, from conceptual design through post-flight data review.
  • Engage hands-on with hardware and operations to drive programmatic change.
  • Embed with partner teams to solve complex multi-disciplinary engineering problems.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of relevant full-time work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems from first principles.
  • Direct experience with rocketry, space systems, or equally complex hardware systems.
  • Strong proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Python, Julia, or MATLAB.
  • Experience setting up complex simulation processes.
  • Ability to complete projects with end-to-end ownership and a high degree of independence.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, intense startup environment.
  • Familiarity with launch vehicle trajectory design and optimization (preferred).
  • Experience as a leading contributor on complex multi-disciplinary engineering analysis projects (preferred).
  • Prior work in a startup environment (preferred).
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and dependency management (preferred).
