Description

  • Own quality activities across design, planning, manufacturing, and program execution for the Terran R program.
  • Standardize drawings and support design for manufacturability (DFM) and configuration management/control.
  • Review work instructions, develop processes, and create standard rework and repair documentation.
  • Support in-process build verification and coordination of traveled work during manufacturing.
  • Manage nonconformance ticket processes, as-built verification, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Drive quality initiatives such as specification development, walk-down checklists, and quality inspection automation.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Additive, Manufacturing, Test, and Launch teams to align quality work with program objectives.
  • Establish and improve processes, controls, and inspections that can scale with production and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or another STEM field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer at a fast-paced manufacturing company.
  • Extensive experience working with design engineering, manufacturing, production, and test personnel.
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and complex assembly practices, along with typical quality processes and controls.
  • Working knowledge of PLM, MES, ERP, and QMS software.
  • Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to solve difficult problems creatively and practically across multiple teams.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for team members, team leaders, and top management.
  • Preferred experience with FMEA, APQP, SPC, and PPV.
  • Preferred experience introducing new hardware into manufacturing, test, and production systems.
  • Preferred familiarity with high-volume inspection methods and data-driven acceptance methods.
  • Preferred understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 practices for aerospace programs.
  • Preferred ability to define, own, and roll out a process from scratch across a diverse team.
