Description

Work with software engineers to build and maintain Reddit’s foundational infrastructure platform.
Improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of observability systems.
Contribute to the technical and strategic direction of eventing at Reddit.
Automate key parts of the event-driven development process.
Share on-call responsibilities for the observability stack.
Contribute upstream changes to open source projects used by the team.
Help shape new features and capabilities for monitoring, logging, and tracing systems.

Requirements

7+ years of experience developing internet-scale software, preferably in infrastructure.
Familiarity with distributed systems development.
Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Vector, Clickhouse, OTEL, or Loki is a plus.
Experience developing on Kubernetes or similar distributed systems.
Kubernetes controller or operator development experience is a huge plus.
Strong troubleshooting skills across both systems and software.
Experience engineering large systems and managing work independently as a self-starter.
Excellent communication skills for collaboration with a service-oriented team and company.
