Description

  • Design and build platform features and core services used by developers across Reddit.
  • Lead major technical initiatives from exploration through launch.
  • Develop systems and tools that support future developer experiences.
  • Work across backend, infrastructure, client, and full-stack components.
  • Contribute throughout the development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
  • Review code, design documents, product specifications, and user experiences.
  • Help define platform strategy and technical direction.
  • Mentor engineers, share knowledge, and foster a culture of ownership and collaboration.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of industry experience with platform functionality, developer tools, full-stack products, or app platforms.
  • Experience leading large-scale technical projects from design through delivery.
  • Strong backend or platform engineering experience with the ability to work across the stack.
  • Familiarity with C++, Java, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, or React.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity and software quality.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers and improving engineering practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, including effectiveness in a fully remote environment.
  • Self-directed, curious, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • Passion for building high-quality software and developer experiences.
  • Open-source contributions or experience building Reddit apps with Devvit preferred.
