Description

  • Define and execute the org-wide client architecture strategy for shared composers across platforms.
  • Lead the architectural overhaul of post and comment creation experiences on web, iOS, and Android.
  • Build and scale new contribution formats natively within shared post and comment flows.
  • Drive the development of seamless video creation, editing, and uploading capabilities in the client.
  • Translate complex product requirements into actionable technical roadmaps and align stakeholders across the organization.
  • Serve as the technical anchor for the Contribution engineering team and influence the broader Content Ecosystem org.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping, system design, and coding while validating final outputs.
  • Lead highly performant client infrastructure, including zero-latency rich-text rendering, media upload pipelines, and offline/online state synchronization.
  • Set patterns and standards for how future formats integrate into the client layer.
  • Tackle technical challenges that improve contribution success rates and reduce friction for users.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proven track record as a Senior Staff Engineer or Principal Engineer on consumer-facing mobile or web client applications.
  • Deep expertise in modern web architecture, including React, TypeScript, and advanced state management.
  • Strong command of native mobile paradigms, including iOS/Swift and Android/Kotlin.
  • Experience defining unified client APIs and leading cross-platform engineering standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve client-side performance and rendering bottlenecks at scale.
  • Experience building highly interactive features such as zero-latency rich-text editors, asynchronous media processing pipelines, or real-time state synchronization systems.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence VP-level technical direction and navigate tradeoffs between performance, reliability, and business impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional engineering initiatives balancing technical excellence with aggressive growth targets.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $232,500 to $325,500 USD.
  • Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units.
  • May also be eligible for commission depending on the position offered.
