Description

  • Define team objectives and project goals aligned with company strategy.
  • Lead communication and coordination within the squad and across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and support the development of team members.
  • Collaborate with other technical leaders to shape technology strategy and technical direction.
  • Ensure technical quality of deliverables and support the resolution of complex problems.
  • Promote AI-assisted engineering practices to improve productivity, code quality, and team velocity.
  • Work with the Product Owner to scope and prioritize refactoring, performance tuning, and technical debt.
  • Define and reinforce quality and observability standards, including testing, monitoring, alerting, and logging.
  • Lead retrospectives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support staffing decisions and individual development goals based on team needs and business priorities.

Requirements

  • Academic background in computer science, engineering, or software development disciplines.
  • Proven experience leading teams in product-driven companies.
  • Hands-on backend experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
  • Optional frontend experience and experience delivering scalable systems.
  • Experience with Python is a plus.
  • Experience with asynchronous programming and medium-to-high complexity domains.
  • Strong understanding of web and mobile application architecture, including security and session management.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, object-oriented programming, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
  • Experience designing or maintaining microservices-based systems and working with agile methodologies.
  • Practical experience applying AI frameworks in development projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience guiding teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience conducting code reviews, sharing knowledge, and building high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and fostering psychological safety and team growth.
  • Familiarity with financial domains such as lending, payments, credit cards, open finance, fraud prevention, merchant acquiring, or investment services.
