Description

  • Lead key components of Core Services, including people recommendation engines.
  • Develop and improve backend systems that support messaging, connecting, and location-based map initiatives.
  • Design scalable software architecture with a focus on maintainability and reliability.
  • Work with databases and search technologies such as Postgres SQL, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch to improve application performance.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, data scientists, and other cross-functional partners to build user-focused solutions.
  • Navigate the full software development life cycle, including agile practices and CI/CD workflows.
  • Use feedback loops and data-driven methods to define, refine, and advocate for product features.
  • Stay current with Raya's technology ecosystem and contribute to continuous technical improvement.
  • Support a culture of learning, teamwork, and shipping solutions to high-impact problems.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in modern software development environments.
  • Strong experience delivering scalable and maintainable backend systems, ideally in a startup or fast-moving environment.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Expertise in system design and architecture.
  • Mastery of at least one programming language such as Node.js, JavaScript, Golang, or TypeScript.
  • Production experience with search applications such as OpenSearch, Vector databases, or Elasticsearch.
  • Hands-on knowledge of agentic GenAI systems, including multi-step LLM pipelines, tool use, or retrieval-augmented workflows.
  • Experience experimenting with or shipping projects that use LLMs.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or model integration in production contexts.
  • Curiosity about new AI frameworks and willingness to adopt emerging best practices quickly.
