Description

  • Scope new research projects in computing, AI, and data science education in the US and global contexts.
  • Lead and support a small team of researchers and coordinators to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Lead the implementation and execution of research projects.
  • Ensure the production and dissemination of high-quality research.
  • Build and maintain working relationships across cross-functional teams, research partners, and collaborators.
  • Support the design of Raspberry Pi Foundation products and tools through research.
  • Support the use of research across curricular and digital products.
  • Contribute to the promotion and mobilization of computing, AI, and data science education research.
  • Write up research results and contribute to peer-reviewed academic publications.
  • Present findings at conferences and publish internal and external blog posts and articles.
  • Represent the Foundation’s research to external audiences and stakeholders.
  • Establish clear communication within the team and with external partners.

Requirements

  • A PhD in education, learning sciences, computer science, AI, data science, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of postdoctoral research experience.
  • Breadth and depth of specialist knowledge in research methods and techniques.
  • A proven track record of delivering projects that meet desired objectives.
  • Ability to manage a team.
  • Experience managing own workload and administrative aspects of projects.
  • Experience with grant or other funding applications.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work through ambiguity.
  • Ability to think strategically and conceptually about research design and delivery.
  • Supportive and collaborative leadership approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel, including approximately quarterly travel to Cambridge, UK.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA.
  • Must be able to overlap with core UK office hours for at least 3 hours per working day.
  • Preferred: experience in computing, AI, data science, and/or education research.
  • Preferred: experience in project and people management.

  • Salary of $120,000-$140,000 per year full-time equivalent, depending on experience and location.
