Description

  • Install Growth Direct systems at new and existing customer sites.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on time and to service standards.
  • Respond to emergency customer repairs within warranty or service contract service levels.
  • Complete service, expense, and SFDC paperwork within departmental goals.
  • Complete required training on time to meet quality requirements.
  • Support the new instrument sales process by performing site inspections.
  • Use advanced problem-solving skills to handle technical issues and customer situations.
  • Make independent decisions on field activity prioritization and escalation when needed.
  • Develop working knowledge of industry practices, company policies, and procedures improvements.
  • Mentor and support more junior field service engineers as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum KōtōSenmonGakkō (Kosen) mechatronics education or equivalent military experience.
  • Prior experience working as a field engineer is required.
  • Experience working with mechanical systems involving pneumatic and servo-controlled mechanisms.
  • Experience working on software-controlled instruments.
  • Experience in ISO or GMP controlled environments in the life science field.
  • Knowledge of computer networking.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret scientific, organizational, and instrument documentation.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills and professional customer handling.
  • Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Japanese professional proficiency at JLPT N2 level or higher, with English proficiency sufficient to communicate globally and understand service documentation.
