Description

  • Review requirements and acceptance criteria to identify unclear requirements, missing scenarios, edge cases, and risks.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test cases for expected behavior, failure conditions, regression risks, and user workflows.
  • Use Claude Code in daily testing work to generate test scenarios, explore edge cases, investigate defects, and support automation.
  • Write effective prompts for AI tools and validate AI-generated output before relying on it.
  • Follow HIPAA and data-handling guidelines, using synthetic, mocked, or de-identified data and escalating when production data or PHI may be needed.
  • Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, and context for engineering.
  • Investigate issues using SQL, browser developer tools, logs, APIs, source code, automated tests, and AI-assisted analysis.
  • Work with QA Automation Engineers to prioritize, build, and maintain automated tests, including Playwright coverage for high-value workflows.
  • Contribute automated tests to the CI/CD pipeline to maintain release confidence.
  • Partner with engineers to reproduce issues, validate fixes, understand root causes, and assess regression impact.
  • Support accessibility testing and apply basic security-conscious testing practices.
  • Communicate testing progress, blockers, risks, and concerns clearly to the team.
  • Track testing activity, defects, and coverage using Jira and XRay.
  • Build product, customer, QA, and domain knowledge while growing toward independent ownership of testing strategy.

Requirements

  • 0–5 years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, software development, or equivalent technical capability.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to write queries to validate data and investigate behavior.
  • Strong attention to detail and curiosity about why software behaves a certain way.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, especially for complex or unexpected behavior.
  • Ability to turn requirements and workflows into meaningful test scenarios, including undocumented edge cases and failure conditions.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted engineering tools in daily work, including writing clear, specific prompts.
  • Judgment to refine AI prompts and verify AI-generated suggestions, tests, analysis, and code.
  • Understanding of responsible data handling and protecting PHI and sensitive customer information.
  • Exposure to automated testing tools or frameworks and interest in expanding automation skills.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and how automated tests support the development and deployment pipeline.
  • Collaborative approach to working with product managers, engineers, and QA peers.
  • Experience with Jira and XRay, or the ability to learn them quickly.
  • Preferred: experience with Playwright or a similar browser automation framework.
  • Preferred: experience using Claude Code with Playwright, including Claude Playwright CLI or MCP-based workflows.
  • Preferred: experience testing APIs.
  • Preferred: experience with Git and source control workflows.
  • Preferred: familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions.
  • Preferred: familiarity with browser developer tools, application logs, or other debugging techniques.
  • Preferred: experience with accessibility testing, including WCAG or Section 508.
  • Preferred: exposure to security testing or secure software development practices.
  • Preferred: experience with healthcare billing software or workflows.
