Description

  • Scout and identify vendor partners in North America that can produce high-quality products with fast lead times.
  • Pitch, onboard, and evaluate new vendor partners through clear test periods and scale-up criteria.
  • Build and lead the Softline sourcing function from scratch.
  • Drive partner operations for existing supplier relationships and expand a redundant supplier base.
  • Improve product costs, quality, and commercial terms to support sustainable sales and profitability.
  • Manage supplier and style-level capacity to keep pace with company growth.
  • Act as the main partner-facing ambassador and strengthen vendor relationships through continuous improvement.
  • Improve launch performance by addressing bottlenecks, increasing hit rates, and accelerating development times.
  • Apply strategic sourcing and trade knowledge to improve cost and speed to market for the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
  • Develop and refine processes and SOPs while collaborating with stakeholders across functions and regions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of sourcing and merchandising experience in home softline categories with high-end national brands in the United States.
  • Deep knowledge of category manufacturing and the ability to build vendor relationships from scratch or leverage existing ones.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management or operations in a retail environment.
  • Consumer-focused, strategic, and able to provide leadership with self-assurance, critical thinking, and passion.
  • Self-motivated and able to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges independently.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on execution, process improvement, and brand enhancement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Resilient under pressure and willing to challenge the status quo.
  • Based in the United States or Latin America and able to travel to vendor partners about 1–2 times per month.
  • Experience with higher-end softline brands (preferred).
  • Prior experience as an e-commerce Category Manager (preferred).
  • SF Bay Area candidates must work onsite in a hybrid schedule 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $120,000 to $150,000 USD.
  • Bonus and equity may be provided for eligible roles.
  • Fully remote work available for candidates outside the SF Bay Area.
  • SF Bay Area candidates can work in a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in office.
