Description

  • Own a meaningful portion of the planning platform from design through production, including feature pipelines, model serving, the experimentation framework, the operator console, or critical integrations.
  • Make sound technical tradeoffs within your area of ownership and collaborate with leadership when needed.
  • Drive engineering quality across your workstream, including testing, observability, performance, and operability.
  • Use AI coding tools fluently in day-to-day development and help raise the team’s standards for AI-assisted engineering.
  • Identify and build AI-augmented platform capabilities such as LLM-aided observability, natural-language operator interfaces, and agentic workflows.
  • Review AI-generated code rigorously, refactor when necessary, and maintain strong quality standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers on design, code review, and operational ownership.
  • Lead design reviews and contribute rigor to architectural decisions.
  • Partner with data scientists and planning operators to translate needs into well-shaped engineering work.
  • Turn ambiguous operational problems into clear engineering solutions without relying on a PM to translate them.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of software engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of production systems beyond simple feature work.
  • Track record of leading workstreams end-to-end with a small team.
  • Strong fundamentals in data systems, APIs, pipeline orchestration, and production operations.
  • Comfort building ML-adjacent infrastructure such as feature pipelines, model serving, and evaluation harnesses.
  • AI-native engineering experience with specific examples of how AI tools improved shipping cadence, testing strategy, or products built.
  • Mentorship experience with junior or adjacent engineers who improved through working with you.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience building and operating data-intensive systems in production, not just designing them.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, make strong technical opinions, and accept better solutions when presented.
  • Experience with AI-assisted product capabilities such as LLM interfaces, AI-assisted triage, or agentic workflows is preferred.
