Description

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to support and improve management of the device and smart speaker fleet deployed on client networks.
  • Improve the build and deployment process for software released to Raspberry Pi–based media players and related devices.
  • Investigate network and configuration issues affecting the fleet and work directly with customer IT/Network Engineers to resolve them.
  • Build automation and operational tools (e.g., in Bash and Golang) to manage and operate the fleet at scale.
  • Refine observability pipelines, monitors, and dashboards to ensure effective alerting and operational visibility.
  • Investigate hardware and software incidents across customers, develop tooling to identify and remediate issues at scale, and feed findings into the Product and Engineering roadmap.
  • Contribute to device or API software as needed, and act as a subject matter expert in designing systems that deliver a high-quality in-store experience.
  • Help refine Ops and Engineering processes and communication, and participate in product discussions that consider in-store environmental complexity.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for team process improvement, innovation, and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience in Software Engineering, Network Engineering, DevOps, or Systems Administration.
  • Experience working with IoT devices and managing distributed device fleets.
  • Experience working in or alongside Operations, DevOps, or Technical Support teams.
  • Experience in software development (web or mobile) distinct from infrastructure scripting or automation.
  • Linux fundamentals including service management and command-line tooling.
  • TCP/IP networking fundamentals and familiarity with enterprise network hardware and configuration.
  • Experience using low-level diagnostics/tools such as tcpdump and arp, and basic shell scripting (Bash or similar).
  • Experience with Golang and/or Python and building automation tooling.
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines (ideally Buildkite and/or GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with AWS services (S3, Route53, CloudFront), observability/monitoring tools (Datadog preferred), and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and enterprise customers, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously across timezones in a remote-first organisation.

Benefits

  • USD $140k - $230k base salary range for United States–based candidates (pay determined by skills, experience, location, and market conditions).
  • Full-time remote role (must be located in or willing to work Pacific or Mountain timezones in the US).
