Description

  • Lead the architecture and evolution of scalable, high-performance data pipelines and ML systems.
  • Own data ingestion, transformation, quality checks, and enrichment workflows.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and Infrastructure Engineers.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives using machine learning, AI, semantic understanding, NLP, and potentially large language models.
  • Define and improve strategies for performance, reliability, and observability of data and ML services.
  • Design and implement frameworks to evaluate data quality and ML model effectiveness using offline metrics and online validation.
  • Champion engineering best practices across teams, including code quality, data governance, and ML system design.
  • Shape long-term technical direction by bringing advances in AI, ML, data engineering, and distributed systems into production.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders through on-site sessions, customer meetings, and internal workshops.
  • Ensure alignment with architectural standards and foster a culture of operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience designing and leading large-scale distributed data and/or ML backend systems.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL pipeline design and optimization for complex data sets.
  • Deep familiarity with Apache Beam, Pub/Sub, Redis, and other large-scale data processing frameworks.
  • Strong backend development experience with Python and Scala.
  • Knowledge of Node.js or Golang is a plus.
  • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases and data warehousing solutions.
  • Experience building robust APIs, including REST and GraphQL.
  • Experience operating in modern cloud environments, with GCP preferred.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and observability tools.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence engineering direction across teams and functions in a data-centric, ML-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to align diverse technical stakeholders around a cohesive vision.
