Description

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of Quality Engineers and test framework engineers focused on automation, coverage, and product quality.
  • Define and execute the quality strategy for FlashBlade, including test coverage, automation priorities, and shift-left quality initiatives.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, and Support to identify use cases, quality gaps, and opportunities to improve customer outcomes.
  • Drive predictable delivery by setting priorities, aligning stakeholders, removing roadblocks, and focusing the team on the right problems.
  • Participate in product requirements and design reviews to influence architecture, testability, and long-term quality outcomes.
  • Define, refine, and use quality metrics to make progress visible and guide team decisions.
  • Mentor engineers through feedback, career development, hiring, and day-to-day technical leadership.
  • Improve tooling, frameworks, and development workflows to increase test developer efficiency, release confidence, and engineering velocity.
  • Foster a quality culture rooted in ownership, customer impact, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across globally distributed teams and multiple engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience, including 3+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.
  • Proven experience hiring, mentoring, building, and scaling engineering teams.
  • Strong background in software test strategy, system quality, and test automation.
  • Experience in enterprise storage technologies, distributed systems, or adjacent infrastructure domains.
  • Experience building automation frameworks and developer tools that improve engineering and release velocity.
  • Experience driving test-driven development in CI/CD-based engineering environments.
  • Strong technical depth and the ability to contribute credibly in architecture and design discussions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong Python skills or comparable hands-on coding experience used for test automation and tooling.
  • Experience working across globally distributed teams and collaborating effectively with engineering stakeholders.
