Description

  • Sit with clients and the Forward Deployed Executive at the start of engagements to understand the function from the inside and redesign it from first principles.
  • Map how client workflows actually operate, identify the underlying business problem, and turn it into a working AI solution.
  • Reach working fluency in new domains such as insurance underwriting, healthcare revenue cycle, or asset flow.
  • Design and ship production GenAI, LLM-based, and agentic systems into customer environments.
  • Implement and optimize production RAG systems.
  • Build evaluation harnesses, define success criteria, instrument systems, and use evals to guide design and release decisions.
  • Write production code across AI, backend services, and data pipelines.
  • Deploy systems on AWS or customer-required cloud environments with containers, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and maintainability.
  • Lead architecture reviews, produce technical design documents, contribute to standards, and mentor engineers.
  • Own technical direction for proposals and scoping, support change management, and help shape commitments before they are made.

Requirements

  • 7+ years building and running production systems.
  • Solid AI/ML foundations with the ability to reason about model behavior and failure modes.
  • Experience designing and shipping production LLM applications and agentic workflows, not just demos or POCs.
  • Experience with agentic orchestration, including multi-step workflows, graph-based orchestration, tool use, state management, and recovery from partial failure.
  • Experience with LLM APIs such as Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or OpenAI, and with agent frameworks.
  • Experience building and optimizing RAG systems in production.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Hands-on AWS production experience with services such as Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, Lambda, ECS, S3, SQS, and ECR; GCP or Azure is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud-native delivery including containers, ECS or Kubernetes, IaC, and CI/CD for AI pipelines.
  • Experience building or owning an eval suite for a non-deterministic system, including ground truth definition and release gating.
  • Experience with model and agent monitoring, drift detection, cost discipline, and latency optimization.
  • Hands-on production experience with the Claude ecosystem, including Claude Code, CLAUDE.md, hooks, and skills files; spec-driven development is a strong plus.
  • Experience with MCP, and the ability to explain its advantage over REST integrations; authoring an MCP server is a plus.
  • Proactive, self-directed mindset and comfort with ambiguity and ownership.
  • B2+ English and comfort collaborating across distributed, multicultural teams.
  • Willingness to spend time understanding the client's work before writing code.
  • Ability to hold conversations with senior stakeholders, including BU heads and CTOs, and present outcomes clearly.
  • Ability to produce scoped, phased delivery plans with deliverables, dependencies, risks, and cost estimates.
  • Nice to have: prior founder, CTO, or engineering leader experience returning to individual contribution.
  • Nice to have: experience in financial services, insurance, or healthcare.
  • Nice to have: consulting, professional services, or embedded customer-facing delivery experience.
  • Nice to have: AWS and Claude Code certifications.
  • Nice to have: experience with an additional language such as Go, TypeScript, or Rust.
  • Nice to have: experience with Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, or Kafka.
