Description

  • Apply statutory and regulatory requirements to real-world claims scenarios and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research and provide clear guidance to claims and servicing partners.
  • Support regulatory compliance efforts by participating in complex claim investigations with Claims, Legal, and Compliance teams.
  • Review estate-related documents such as trusts, powers of attorney, divorce decrees, and court orders to support compliant claim determinations.
  • Assist with market conduct exams and regulatory inquiries by coordinating information and drafting or reviewing responses for state insurance departments.
  • Develop training materials, job aids, and reference tools to support consistent claims handling and operational procedures.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and recommend performance improvements within claims operations.
  • Work independently within established frameworks while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Maintain flexibility with work hours in a remote work arrangement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in legal research, regulatory compliance, insurance operations, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical operational guidance.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently within established frameworks.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience in insurance claims, compliance, or regulatory support (preferred).
  • Familiarity with state insurance regulations (preferred).
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or paralegal background (preferred, not required).
  • Experience and/or exposure to Westlaw or legal research tools (plus).
  • New Juris Doctor graduates are encouraged to apply.
