Description

  • Design, code, test, implement, maintain, and support software systems.
  • Work with business analysts and customers to gather requirements and align solutions to business needs.
  • Research, compile, and evaluate information for the development and maintenance of very large and complex systems and processes.
  • Design complex systems and support processes that integrate with existing systems.
  • Construct, modify, and test complex system changes.
  • Diagnose, isolate, and resolve difficult production and software problems quickly.
  • Prepare and maintain complete technical documentation that meets corporate standards.
  • Support production incidents and daily problem research to reduce business impact.
  • Perform technical project management and manage individual project tasks as needed.
  • Provide leadership, feedback, and knowledge sharing to peers and support teams.

Requirements

  • 13+ years of applicable work and/or technical experience in important company languages/environments.
  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in Management Information Services, Computer Science, or a math-related field; degree may substitute for up to 4 years of experience.
  • Technical certifications are desirable and may substitute for some work and/or technical experience.
  • Recognized expertise in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant technologies and how to incorporate them into current and new systems.
  • Experience with Cobol and Assembler languages.
  • CICS experience is a plus.
  • IBM mainframe environment preferred.
  • Experience with Life and Annuity systems such as LIFE-COMM or LIFE/70 is preferred.
  • Experience in new product implementation and Documerge is a plus.
