Description

  • Serve as an internal consultant on the competitive landscape for annuities.
  • Develop and execute ongoing mixed-method research programs on competitors’ product specifications, rates, service capabilities, sales strategies, technology partnerships, and operational integration.
  • Support new annuity competitive intelligence programs and projects from planning and research through packaging and disseminating insights.
  • Analyze competitor products and capabilities on a continuous basis using quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Create and improve product battlecards and side-by-side comparisons for competitive sales analysis, intranet content, and training.
  • Develop reports, presentations, and data dashboards to communicate research findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Conduct win-loss evaluations and catalog the findings.
  • Execute ad hoc research on competitors’ products, capabilities, and related market information.
  • Collaborate with the Market Research Team on reciprocal projects and information sharing.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of total industry experience at an annuity carrier or broker-dealer, bank, BGA, or similar organization.
  • Experience in product development, sales, marketing, account management, due diligence, market research, IT, or operations.
  • Experience at both an annuity carrier and broker-dealer, or in closely related roles, is preferred.
  • High familiarity with web-based client- and advisor-facing policy management or advising tools at a carrier or broker-dealer.
  • Working technical knowledge of annuity product types and features.
  • Understanding of the full process for selling and servicing annuities and how they fit into retirement planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Relevant advanced degrees, executive education, and industry designations or licenses are preferred.
  • Exceptional written communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence.
  • Experience thriving in a dynamic, collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with analysis methods in a business or academic setting.
  • Familiarity with AI tools, including how to apply them effectively and their limitations.
  • Moderate analytical tool skills in Excel are required; Power BI, Tableau, and similar tools are preferred.
