Description

  • Develop high-quality promotional content that is scientifically robust, brand consistent, and aligned to client objectives.
  • Write and refine promotional assets including brand campaigns, narratives, detail aids, leave pieces, emails, digital tools, and congress materials.
  • Interpret complex scientific data and translate it into clear, credible promotional messaging.
  • Conduct literature searches to support claims, brand messaging, and promotional narratives.
  • Prepare annotated content with references, claims support, and ABPI-compliant substantiation across multiple review rounds.
  • Incorporate internal and client feedback to deliver final materials that reviewers can confidently approve.
  • Collaborate with Account, Editorial, Creative, Digital, and Client Services teams to deliver work on time and within budget.
  • Lead scientific discussions with clients and external experts, including calls, meetings, and MLR review sessions.
  • Manage the MLR process by providing scientific justification for claims, responding to queries, and guiding required changes.
  • Provide mentorship and first-pass review support for junior writers while improving team processes and best practices.

Requirements

  • PhD in a scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of medical writing experience, ideally in a medical communications agency.
  • Strong emphasis on pharmaceutical promotional materials experience.
  • Demonstrable experience developing brand campaigns, brand narratives, detail aids, leave pieces, emails, digital promotional content, and congress materials.
  • In-depth understanding and practical application of the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and reference management tools such as EndNote.
  • Experience using literature databases such as PubMed.
  • Ability to master new therapeutic areas quickly and communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Consistent and effective use of internal communication tools such as Teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and live events.
